Parent / Caregiver
We know that starting an early learning journey in Australia can be overwhelming for you and your child, especially when you are new to the country or English is not your first language.
Your child may struggle with settling into a centre, making friends, communicating, or not feel included. When it comes to ensuring your child’s wellbeing as well as maintaining your child’s language and culture – we are here to support you.
We deliver a FREE program called Multicultural Inclusion Support in Early Childhood Education and Care Services in NSW. Our program is delivered by bilingual early years support workers - called Multicultural Inclusion Workers - who share the cultural and linguistic background of your child.
Our aim is for your child to get a strong educational foundation that sets them on a path of lifelong learning, achievement and wellbeing. We achieve this by supporting your child to fully participate in learning as well helping educators to include your culture and language in learning activities.
What we do
How we support your child
Multicultural Inclusion Workers draw on their language skills, cultural knowledge, and educational expertise to:
Nurture your child’s confidence, identity, wellbeing, and school-readiness.
Ensure effective communication between your child, family, and educators.
Strengthen educators’ understanding of your culture.
Develop resources to support culture and language in learning activities and daily routines.
Help to identify additional support needs, where required.
Support your child in their transition to school.
How can I access Multicultural Inclusion Support for my child?
Due to funding requirements, support for your child must be requested by the director of the early learning and care service. Ask your service’s director to contact one of our friendly team members today about Multicultural Inclusion Support on (02) 9569 1288 or via email [email protected].
