Multicultural Support Services

We provide social support for CALD older people ( > 65 years) living at home in Sydney’s Inner West and Eastern Suburbs. This includes individual support or linking individuals into various group activities.

Individual Support

We provide individual 1:1 support to frail older persons living at home. Some of the ways we can help:

  • we can visit older persons at home or ring them for a chat
  • we can take short walks with them
  • we can take them out for a cup of tea or coffee
  • we can provide them with information that they might need
  • we can accompany them to the shops, a doctor’s appointment etc.

Group Support

We provide group support through our Social Support Groups.

You may wish to join our Multicultural Support Group or one of our many CALD Support Groups: Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Portugese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese.

Some of the group activities we can offer include:

  • gentle exercise
  • yoga
  • falls prevention
  • meditation
  • cultural events and celebration
  • music, dance and singing
  • computer classes – including help with smartphones and tablets
  • excursions to different locations across Sydney and NSW
  • information sessions about areas of interest to older persons
